Why take a mindfulness course?
Health and well being are important. During these times of global uncertainty,
many of us are feeling overwhelmed by anxiety and fear.
Mindfulness brings awareness to what is unfolding moment to moment and offers us a path toward resilience, healing and greater wellbeing.
Demands, frustrations, deadlines and unpleasant events can bring high levels of stress into our lives. The most common symptoms of stress can make us feel irritable, anxious, agitated, aggressive or withdrawn. We can not control the thoughts, emotions or body sensations that arise when we react to stress, but we can control how we relate to them.
With mindfulness we bring space into our experience, a pause in which we can pay attention to our experience in the realm of body sensations, thoughts, and emotions. In this space we can relate to the stressful event in a different way, to perceive it more clearly and to calm down our automatic stress response.
One of the ways we can activate the calming response to a stressful event or feelings of anxiety is through simple formal and informal mindfulness practices. Through mindfulness we tap into our inner resources and contribute to our over all mental health and well-being.
Qualified MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction) and MBCT (Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy) instructor trained at Brown University School of Public Health Mindfulness Center (USA) and Bangor University and Oxford Mindfulness Center (UK).
Her intention is to contribute to a world more heart-connected to heal ourselves and the planet.
